    Atari's Greatest Hits

    by Atari

Atari’s Greatest Hits contains the original and most authentic version of Asteroids. The app includes a free copy of Pong. You can purchase both Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe in-app as part of a small package or buy the all-inclusive $14.99 package. The controls and manipulation of the game is not quite as easy as many of the others. You are able to hook your iPad up to an iCade, which turns your iPad into a true arcade with tactile controls. Atari’s Greatest Hits is a nice retro addition to any iPad.

    Doodleroids

    by Portyworld LLC

Doodleroids is a fun doodle version of Asteroids. The doodle aspect is not pushed as much as others like Doodle Jump. The graphics and drawings are nice. We would like to see improvements made to the control mechanism. You are able to warp, thrust, fire, and turn on shields. Doodleroids is a fun and worthwhile version of Asteroids.

    Space Rocks HD

    by David Tillotson

Space Rocks HD is one to skip for now. The game doesn’t feel like a true iPad app. Instead it feels more like an upscaled iPhone app. The graphics attempt to recreate the original, but the result is not good. Space Rocks is an app that doesn’t even have a beat.
