Finding Apartments On The iPad
Overview
Finding your next place to live is a big deal. It can be hard at times to navigate clunky webpages. The iPad is a great device for finding apartments. There are a ton of apps that do this. We have been going through all the ones out there and here are our favorites.

Complete Rentals - Apartments and Homes

The best of the bunch is Complete Rentals. The app includes great search functionality with filters. The app can also keep track of your favorites, and history. The app is truly fantastic if you know where in the city you want to live. Complete Rentals allows you to search near an address. A red marker will show you how close the rentals are to your target area. The app is nicely designed and has a bunch of listings. The app is far from perfect. We did notice there was not a single app that really had that “wow” factor that you might have with other categories. Complete Rentals is the best app out there for apartment searching on the iPad.

ApartmentGuide is not a terrible app, but lacks in many areas. The app can search based upon a zip code, but it is extremely hard to search around a target address. The app also has far fewer listings than the essential app. The app can remember favorites. Overall, an okay app that has room for improvement.

Classifieds2Go is a more general app. The app does feature apartment rentals. The app includes no maps or tools that you will find in the other apps. The app does provide unique listings that you will not find elsewhere. Those having a hard time finding a place should give this one a try.

Apartment Rentals Search is a pretty useless app. The interface is fantastic and has the potential to be great. The app however contains no listings. We tried several different locations and could not find a single apartment to rent! The app has a lot of promise, but right now it just is not usable.

UDR is another app that has great promise. The interface is among the best we have seen for apartment finder apps. The app is a little prone to crashing. The real problem with the app is the amount of listings available. The overall amount is quite small, and finding them is hard. There is no search box. The app forces you to navigate down a hierarchal structure to find your city. The app really does have a nice interface, but right now is far too limited.

Apartments For Rent is an app we want to love. The app has a great user interface and provides several great listings. But the app loves to crash! It is simply is not usable right now. We look forward to future releases.
