Micro-Expression Trainer
by Mario Micklisch
Micro-Expression Trainer is the essential app for many reasons. It is one of the few apps of this kind that is universal (runs great on both iPads and iPhones). The characters in the app will show different expressions in a life like manner. You can set how long each expression lasts. The better you get at reading expressions the shorter your duration should be. You are tested on identifying disgust, anger, fear, sadness, happiness, surprise, and contempt. We would love to see the app grow into something more advanced. We hope to see more characters and more expressions in future updates. Micro-Expression Trainer is the essential face reading app.

Facial Expression Recognition Training
by InHo Choi
Facial Expression Recognition Training is a more simplistic app. You can grab this one for $0.99, which is significantly less than the essential app. You do get what you pay for. In this app you have static cartoon styled images rather than more lifelike moving expressions that are found in the essential app. All of the same expressions are found in this app, but the training you receive in this app will not be as effective as the more expensive essential app. If price is your only concern this is a good app to grab.
