Push Notification reminders are sent when your favorite shows are about to start. i.TV runs the risk of losing the iPhone thanks to this feature. The reviews in the App Store have been mixed, but Push alone should make it at least test-worthy for anyone who watches TV regularly.

Nobody was sure if it would make it into the App Store, but it did. Simply, GPush is described as the "missing link between Gmail and the iPhone." Until Google finally implements Push gmail, this'll have to do. No longer will you have to wait 15 minutes to get that email, GPush gets it to your right now.

Much more robust Push Notification settings than SportsTap. Not only can you get alerts at the start and end of the game and when the score changes, but with Sportacular you can set a reminder 3 hours before the game starts and at the end of each inning or every 3rd inning. Not only that, but if there's an individual game you're interested in but it's one of your favorite teams isn't playing, you can set alerts specifically for that game. All this is in addition to some other cool features, like Facebook Connect and the ability to root for your time by voting that they're going to win.

Todo is one of the best task management applications on the iPhone and version 3.0 adds Push Notifications. Unfortunately, it only notifies you when you set a specific due time for a task. It won't, for example, update the badge count at midnight with all the new tasks due that day. Though Appigo has a very good track record with updates so expect something like that in a future version.

One of only two news apps with Push Notifications for news updates. BNO is associated with the @breakingnews Twitter account with a following of nearly 1 million people. They're very fast. Along the lines of Hey Where Are You (also a free push app), JoinMe allows you to get real-time updates on the distance of a friend or family member from your current location. Just send a request.
