AIM v1.1 | Published by AOL | via App Store | Free | Released: 7-26-08
What’s New In This Version
Alongside the standard bug-fixing upgrades, AIM v1.1 offers some cool new features that will hopefully boost its average user rating (currently at 2.5 stars). Now you can set sound & vibration preferences for notifications, actually log-off AIM from the My Info Screen, and even ‘blast’ multiple people at once with an AIM or SMS (though you need to sign-up for this feature separately).
Here are the entire details from the iTunes’ page:
- Send an IM or SMS to multiple people at once with AIM Blast. See http://blast.aim.com to set up Blast for your iPhone.
- Added the ability to explicitly sign off from the AIM network from the My Info Screen.
- Notification sound and vibration preferences can be set from the Settings application
- This version also resolves issues some users had reported with crashes and blank IMs, particularly on the iPhone 3G.
- See the FAQ at http://mobile.aol.com/iphone/aim for documentation and additional information

These chatting apps (AIM & Palringo) are a real disappointment. Despite not being able to run in the background, they are buggy and very limited.
AgileMessenger, we want you. Just don’t charge us $40 for it!
hey great site first time user. but hope to see great improvement in the website.
keep up the great work
Why is there no yahoo messenger app for the iPhone? If I knew the server credentials I’m sure I’d be able to do something low end.
