Yet another application has been suddenly pulled by Apple, this time for seemingly objectionable content. A post on the developer’s blog says that the free app was delisted without warning, and his inquiries to Apple have gone unanswered.

The application, Slasher, by Josef W. Wankeri, “shows a picture of a kitchen knife on the screen and also plays a sound when you shake the phone.”

Wankeri goes on to write that Apple shouldn’t let personal feelings carry into their decision-making: “I do have a problem with the App Store refusing to publish Slasher because they don’t like it.” Though a trend may be emerging, as an Apple spokesperson cited a “judgment call” as the reason for Armin Heinrich’s I Am Rich getting pulled.

It appears developer’s may want to tread cautiously before investing time & resources into ‘questionable’ apps that can be squashed by Apple on a whim.

  1. Wasn’t the “judgement call” remark in relation to the “I Am Rich” app?

  2. @Blake: thank you! correction has been noted…
