Update
Okay, so after an apparently premature release announcement (shown below) where Lightsaber Unleashed flashed on the App Store briefly, its now available, for free, HERE.
–
Just a week after we reported Lightsaber Unleashed had been officially announced and was in the works, it’s now available in the App Store for free, HERE.
After developers TheMacBox had their popular PhoneSaber app pulled by Lucas for copyright infringement, they promised an official collaboration with the powers that be would be in the works. Making good on their promise in just a month, this new version features sound effects and duelling music, the ability to draw / withdraw the LightSaber, and the option to choose your Force Unleashed character.

requires 2.1 firmware!
Holy crap it needs a volume control slider or something. I just installed it on my touch and damn near blew my ear drums out. My coworker across the room even heard it and looked up at me and asked if that was a lightsaber sound he just heard. He could hear it just fine with both ear buds in my ear. Way to go Lucas, I’m deaf now.
Is it just me or does General Rahm Kota look like Peter Gabriel. Oh, and Apple is truly evil to only make this available for 2.1 – they KNOW that us unlockers aren’t on 2.1 yet.
NERDS!
@Jared Gibbs: Why wouldn’t you be on 2.1 yet? Pwnage, WinPwn, and QuickPwn are all available for 2.1 now.
Are you sure this time? My kids got all excited from the last announcement and daddy lost some cool points.
@Khurt: Yes, yes, just blame it on me and get The Force in their hands — all will be forgiven and daddy’s cool-o-meter will be replenished!
@Nic Elder: I know that all of those jailbreak 2.1 but they don’t UNLOCK it for use on T-Mobile yet… or do they?
Also the fighting music soundtrack and the flashes of light when you strike are a welcome addition!
@Jared Gibbs: If you have a 1st generation iPhone you can UNLOCK — 3G owners, no such luck yet.
