If you are the iPhone Dev-Team you’re going to have some problems topping your last performance — unlocking the iPhone 3G for the first time with yellowsn0w was no minor accomplisment.
Enter redsn0w. Not only is the Dev-Team remaining tight lipped about this new development, but they are being coy about it.

It is clearly for the second generation iTouch. One blogger notes that, “the small section of text on a chip, visible in the circular center of the [redsn0w] image, matches text found on the iPod touch 2G’s processor.”

it has been confirmed that redsn0w is the jailbreak for the 2g touch. In the upper left hand corner of the picture is the hash of the decrypted iBoot image.
@paul: There are many differences between the 2g touch, and the 3g iPhone, there’s no reason to jump on James for asking the question. The bigger difference besides the new CPU is that they patched all previously used exploits for obtaining read/write access to the system partition of the device. This is the difference that redsn0w aims to solve.
this is an odd question. but why is it necessary to have to do all this? why does apple secure user end products against the user? i am totally honest when i ask this, and i’m looking for a decent explaination.

Well its a little late for that Logan, but we’ll probably being seeing it here in a week a so. If not sooner hopefully.
