Obama Trampoline Denied Entry To The App Store

This could be a case of developers not reading the news often enough or they seriously thought this one had a chance.

Obama Trampoline, a game developed by Swamiware, allows users to control a bouncing politician on a trampoline in an attempt to pop balloons to clear the stage. The game has a slew of Republicans and Democrats to choose from with various attributes that make some characters better bouncers than others.

Obama Trampoline has been denied a spot at the App Store due to the now usual problem of defaming public figures:

“Applications must not contain any obscene, pornographic, offensive or defamatory content or materials of any kind (text, graphics, images, photographs, etc.), or other content or materials that in Apple’s reasonable judgement may be found objectionable by iPhone or iPod touch users.”

The problem is, the game doesn’t appear to contain any questionable content. It’s possible, however, that the caricature representations of the politicians is the problem because it’s the only consistent variable present in all the political applications that have been denied.

It seems that Apple has a problem with developers using politicians in any way, shape or form. This time maybe developers will take notice, do not make applications for the App Store that ridicule public figures because you will be wasting your time.
