Apple’s one billion app countdown contest is over and they have finally revealed the name of the winner, so unless you are one Connor Mulcahey from the fine state of Connecticut, that means you have lost.

According to the press release issued by Apple this morning, Connor Mulcahey, a 13-year-old from Weston, CT, was the grand prize winner.  Connor will be receiving a $10,000 iTunes gift card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule, and a MacBook Pro.  The billionth  application downloaded was Bump by Bump Technologies.

“The revolutionary App Store has been a phenomenal hit with iPhone and iPod touch users around the world, and we’d like to thank our customers and developers for helping us achieve the astonishing milestone of one billion apps downloaded,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “In nine months, the App Store has completely revolutionized the mobile industry and this is only the beginning.”

Congratulations Connor, I am truly jealous.
