If you need help falling asleep at night, or you simply enjoy the sounds of falling rain or storms, the Sleepmaker series by Software X may be the perfect fit for you.
There are currently many other sound applications out there with the goal of helping people fall asleep, but what makes the Sleepmaker series unique is that its sounds aren’t artificial or compressed. Developer Software X used uncompressed high quality recordings to deliver the sounds they literally recorded live in the World Heritage Listed Forests in Tasmania, Australia. Because they are delivered uncompressed, the applications clock in around 50MB, so the developer recommends downloading the applications over Wi-Fi to save time.
Software X currently offers two applications in their Sleepmaker series, Sleepmaker Rain and Sleepmaker Storms, but they intend to create even more. Both applications have simple to use interfaces, the ability to set a timer, an automatic fade function, and various intensities of sounds to best suit your needs.
Both Sleepmaker Rain and Sleepmaker Storms are available on sale for $1.99 each. Once the App Store reaches 1 billion downloaded apps, both titles will return to their regular price of $2.99.

That interface looks great,50 mbs ? Wow!! nice review!!! Thpugh thunderstorm sounds give me nightmares!!!lol
They use to scare the fudge out of me but now they are indeed soothing, to an extent. Those huge thunderclaps can wake a person fairly well. Odd how something like that can be calming. Seems like a great idea. Wonder if other versions will come.
i think it’s a great idea…hopefully more cool versions to follow!
Makes me feel like I have to go to the restroom with all that running water. Needs over soothing options like wind or meadows
