Now that iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 4 has been available for a couple hours, people have had the chance to poke around a little bit and thanks to our faithful readers, we’ve got some pretty cool changes to let you know about. By no means is this list complete so if you find something, shoot us an e-mail or leave a comment to share with everyone!
Changes in iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 4:
- App Store Settings icon is now present as it was blank before
- Users can now login and logout of multiple iTunes accounts on their iPhone or iPod touch
- It has been verified that the downloading of apps from different iTunes accounts on the device is now allowed! No more wiping a device – just logout and log back in!
- Copy and Paste is now allowed in the Calculator app
- The option to create an iTunes account on the device is shown, however attempts to do so have been met with “Cannot Connect to App Store” errors
- In iTunes 8.2 pre-release with a device connected, the “Info” tab is completely different
- iTunes 8.2 pre-release states that the syncing of Notes requires that Mac OS X 10.5.7 is required, although it has not been released yet
- iTunes “About” screen references Blu-ray.

Ummm did 3.0 just get way better or what? Now when my sister wants an app she can log into her account and buy it instead of fitting the bill. I wish she would buy her own iPhone
Yep, I’m loving the ability to change accounts.
if you need help getting your UDID activated on a developers account i found the website that i linked to my name above actually found them in facebook, just click on my name to go there. They had me up and running in no time and i now have complete access to their Apple developers account with my own user ID and password. It was worth it, just my 2 cents for anyone who is in the same boat i was.
Another Notable Change:
You can now edit Contact with the text message app. When you use to click on contact info, you could never edit before, now there is an edit button. Always wondered why that didnt work before!!!
since upgrading to beta 4 I have an icon to the left of the battery meter. It appears to be a phone handset face down on top of four buttons on top of three buttons (keypad)???/ Any idea?
Sounds like the TTY icon:

Check your settings, you might have accidentally turned TTY on.
