Throwing robots into a 3D FPS for the iPhone is never a bad idea.  What's not to like about that combination?  One developer has taken the this formula one step further by adding head-to-head two-player action on the same device in their new game Robot Wars 3D. robotwars3d_screen Robot Wars 3D is an interesting little game.  It pits two players against each other in a robot battle to the death.  The goal is to annihilate your opponent by using your giant front-mounted laser canon.  The best part is, your opponent doesn't have to own the game or even an iPhone since Robot Wars 3D is played on the same device. Each player's robot movements are controlled by two virtual thumbsticks, and shooting is as simple as tapping your weapon on the screen.  You are able to shoot or jump your way around obstacles since some of the items in the map are fully interactive.  Power-ups are littered all over the map for you to obtain by exploring every corner.  Robot Wars 3D utilizes the popular Unity Engine to create a pretty neat looking 3D environment. Robot Wars 3D does have a couple catches however, it is solely a two-player head-to-head FPS game played on a single map.  You won't be playing this title by yourself, and the single map may eventually get tiresome after a while.  Of course, with the ability to add content through updates, Robot Wars 3D has a promising future, and for only $.99, what more could you ask for?
