It’s usually good to see non-rumor-based news coming out of Apple’s Cupertino headquarters, but this isn’t exactly what we had in mind.
According to the Silicon Valley Mercury News via AppleInsider, a building on Apple’s Cupertino campus had to be evacuated on Wednesday after one of their employees found a suspicious envelope containing a white powder in the cafeteria. Unsure of what was contained within the envelope, fire crews donned hazmat gear as a precaution upon entering the building to clear out all occupants.
The preliminary tests have indicated, however, that the substance contained within the envelope was not hazardous. It has been taken to a Santa Clara County lab for more testing.
Maybe Apple will send the local fire crew a nice basket of iPods as their way of saying thanks?
