Many of you may recall that we revealed a list of specs for the next generation iPhone about one week ago. We never claimed that any of the specs were set in stone, but we had enough confidence in our source to at least post the alleged specs and allow you to come to your own conclusion. Today a new rumor has surfaced which further indicates that we may have been closer than we thought with the next-gen iPhone specs.
CrunchGear is reporting that, according to one of their tipsters, the next-gen iPhone will indeed have an illuminated Apple logo on its backside:
A tipster has seen the new matte iPhone and the bugger has a light-up Apple. That’s right: it lights the freak up. Who knew?
Their tipster also indicated that the next-gen iPhone will be sporting a new bezel, just like the rumors have stated.
Rumors are simply that, rumors, so none of this may be true at all, but if it is, we think someone at CrunchGear may have some explaining to do.
So what do you think, would an illuminated Apple logo be totally awesome, or would you rather do without to conserve battery power?
It’d be sweet, I think. Until you tick your significant other off when having double the light emitting from your iPhone when playing games in bed. :8-) I would guess that it’d be like other phones and Apple’s laptops where they just have the backlight for the display visible from the other side. No extra power drain necessary.
Wow, so much for continuing with the current modding of my 3G phone, I was just making the mold for the Apple logo. -Interesting though, I dont think it would be the back light from the screen, the battery takes up the whole back of the phone, low power LED’s?

think about the possibility that the light could be configured to turn on or not.
I hope you can leave it in the “OFF” position. It is hard to take a call inconspicuously in a dark room without everyone turning to see the bright lights already!
I’d rather they included a FLASH for the camera!
What about the posibility that the logo doubles as an LED flash? dont know how viable that is tho
