Maybe Gameloft felt the need to drive more attention to their brand new movie-based game for the iPhone and iPod touch before Terminator Salvation hit the theaters, or maybe they simply felt that it wasn’t worth the original price of $9.99 due to its length. No matter what the reason is, Gameloft has decided to drop the price of Terminator Salvation only four days after its initial release.
Terminator Salvation puts you in the shoes of both John Connor, the leader of the Resistance, and Marcus Wright, a terminator who is on our side, in an attempt to defeat the evil forces of Skynet. The game features tons of enemies and weapons, plus some fantastic looking visuals, but the consensus seems to be that the game is simply too short, coming in around 2-3 hours of total gameplay. The game does feature a few mini games to keep you busy for a short while after you beat the campaign, but nothing that would warrant paying an extra few dollars for. It may be because of this that Gameloft has dropped the price of Terminator Salvation from $9.99 to only $5.99.
Dropping the price of an application so soon after release is bound to create a bit of a frenzy. Everyone enjoys saving a few bucks, so those of you who haven’t purchased the game quite yet are in luck, but the difficulty is that such an early price drop usually angers the early adopters, and early adopters are usually the biggest fans.
Since there is no mention of a sale, this is assumed to be a permanent price drop. If you still can’t decide if Terminator Salvation is worth the $5.99, stay tuned for our full review of the game, which will be arriving on the site sometime this week.
