Push notifications are practically a necessity for some iPhone apps, like Twitter and chat, and sometimes they are just a convenient perk.  Ambiance’s new ability to send push notifications when new sounds are available could probably be placed in the latter category rather than the former.

ambiance screen 208x300 Ambiance Able To Notify You Of New Sounds Via Push, Now On SaleAs the description states, Ambiance is an “environmental enhancer.”  It allows you to create a perfect ambient atmosphere to help you focus on an activity or just to help you relax and fall asleep.  What makes this “environmental enhancer” unique is that it allows you to download over 500 Ambiance exclusive sounds for free.  This way you can customize the app with sounds that only you want.  It also features the ability to create custom sound mixes, shuffles mixes, create favorites, use custom image backgrounds, and much more.

Ambiance v2.1 now features iPod integration, no more logins or accounts (which means no more restrictions), stability enhancements, and push notifications.  A push notification will be sent when new sounds are available for download, which will come in handy since the app only contains three sample sounds.  You must download your own sounds for free via an Internet connection to get the full effect.

Ambiance is now on sale in the App Store for $.99, but you must hurry because it is only on sale for a limited time, as it will eventually return to its regular price of $4.99.  Ambiance has also been added to our Apps That Push You Applist.

  1. Regular price of $4.99? This app has NEVER been at that price. The price of this app was $.99 for the 1st 6 months, $2.99 for the past 6 months, and $.99 again for the last 8 days.

    • Yes, the app has never been $4.99. However, the developer has stated in the app’s description that the regular price is/will be $4.99, which is exactly why I stated it will return to it’s regular price of $4.99. I have contacted the developer about the curious pricing and am currently awaiting a response.

      • Gotcha. I noticed the developer stated that too…I figured it was just a sneaky marketing ploy to make it sound like an even better deal.

  2. And it’s up to $1.99 already, how about that. I’d have given it a shot @ .99.

  3. As the story goes, the price could still reach $4.99. The developer wasn’t able to disclose any further information since they haven’t made a decision about the price yet themselves.
