Apple has started celebrating the App Store’s very first birthday with a special section devoted to some of Apple’s favorite games and apps. The App Store was officially launched on July 11, 2008.
The special section contains two categories, apps and games, with a total of 60 apps. Since listing them all would take an eternity, here is just a taste:
Apps:
- MLB.com At Bat 2009
- BeejiveIM
- Brushes
- Shazam
- Tweetie
Games:
- Let’s Golf!
- Peggle
- Toki Tori
- iDracula
- Fantastic Contraption
You can view the full list by accessing the App Store via iTunes. At the top of the App Store there will be a link to the special “App Store Turns 1” section. The section’s front page only contains a small portion of the 60 apps, so be sure to click on “See All” to view all of the apps in each category.
The App Store contains about 56,000 apps at this point, so it is likely that Apple has left out some of your favorites apps. Which other apps do you think should have been included?
