The feature-rich iPhone bill assistant app, BillMinder, has been updated with the ability to send push notifications. Now you will have no excuse for missing your next bill payment.
BillMinder was the first bill tracking app available in the App Store and it just keeps getting better. It is loaded with features that will help you stay on top of your bills, including the ability to calculate bill amounts, categorize your collectors, backup and restore to a file, export to Excel, record paid date and amount, and alerts with icon badging. With v1.6, the features just keep on coming.
BillMinder v1.6 adds a brand new calendar view, updated history view, auto-pay can now optionally mark your bills as paid on their due date, bug fixes, and of course push notifications. With BillMinder, push notifications are entirely optional since the developer is charging an annual fee of $.99 using the in-app purchase system to make up for the server costs. If you choose to use BillMinder’s push notifications, you will be sent a notification informing you how many new bills are due within your alert period. Push notifications will also tell you when a bill has been auto-paid and it will update your badge accordingly.
Accordingly to the developer, all push notifications are sent at 12:00 PM ET. The next version (v1.6.1) will users to choose an hour to be alerted, and BillMinder will automatically compensate for timezones so users will be alerted at the chosen hour in their timezone.
BillMinder is available in the App Store for $1.99. Push notifications are a $.99 annual fee, but they must be manually renewed, so you won’t have to worry about being charged without warning.

The Push might be nice, but the UI is horrible.
Hopefully some people will start paying bills on time with this and the economy will improve.
Yikes! $1.99 for BillMinder and $.99/yr for
push is just too much overhead. I have all my bills set to autopay which works great and works for all but one.
Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I can’t believe Agile Web Solutions is giving away 1Password, and NOT 1Password Pro, the better, upgraded app. Both are fine apps, but that whole situation is such a mess. Where’s the love?
I miss bills alot and need something like this.
Doesn’t seem bad at 99¢ a year. i wonder if the first year of push is included or is it going to cost $2.99 upfront for push?
Wow… I didn’t know there was an app for managing bills! The unlock feature really makes this app a unique one!
From the screenshots, the app looks nice and useful.
Lee, I didn’t even know Agile Web Solutions had started charging for 1Password, I thought it was still free. Hope I win, though, as I’ve got lots of friends I could gift it to.
As for BillMinder, does it pull bill info from your various payees? Cause I’d love to receive all my bills through this instead of having to check ‘em online at the time I go to pay them. Way easier to budget that way.
If not, it still looks like an awesome application, but I could see an app with the combined features of BillMinder, Bank of America BillPay, and some sort of bill polling source that uses your login info to get all your bills and due dates.
I have to get this!
This app is the best for having your passwords save of other people!!!! I really want to have it!!
Appadvice rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A program like this is exactly what a procrastinator like me needs.
I have heard nothing but wonderful things about 1password, I need to try it!!!
I think this must add a PDF parser so it can be configured to read bills and automatically add due dates and amounts. THis way you can avoid the first miss of adding it to the reminder. I know every bill has its own format but for every bill a one time setup should make it
I whish there was a good desktop quicken sync app… and 1Password looks great.
Congrats to our winner, Matt! Your download code has been sent via email.
I purchased the push notification but I am not getting any notifications and no evidence “push” technology is working.
