Joe Hewitt, the developer at Facebook responsible for the iPhone app, took the time to let everyone know what he’s been working on, and what we can expect in the upcoming 3.0 update.
In a brief, but quite informative blog post, Joe lists all the things we can expect when the update is submitted to the App Store, and eventually approved by Apple.
Among the highlights, you’ll be able to create new photo albums, upload photos to any album, zoom into photos, and quickly call or text people right from the Friends page. The other major change, as you can see in the picture above, is a completely redesigned Home Screen.
Hewitt goes on to mention that Push notifications are in the works, but won’t make it into the upcoming release.
You can check out the full list of upcoming changes here.
I don’t know about you guys but I’m looking forward to this update as it seems like it’ll be adding more features that will bring the functionality of the web version closer to the iPhone.

Its Push notifications that we are all waiting for!
And for the notifications to take you to the actual notification when you click them, not to the profile of the person it’s about!
Looking forward to it
