Developer IGG Software has just released a mobile iPhone and iPod touch version of their popular desktop banking software iBank.
iBank is a stand-alone app that allows you to keep track of your daily spending and account balances while on the go. The app features the ability to enter transactions, track your spending, check account balances, and sync with iBank for Mac.
iBank for Mac users are able to sync multiple devices over Wi-Fi, MobileMe, or any WebDAV server. iBank 3.5 for Mac is required to sync, however. You can purchase the Mac OS version of iBank on the developer’s website for $59.99. The download includes a free 75 transaction trial period.
iBank for the iPhone also contains some of the key features from the desktop version of the software, including memorized payee list, split transaction support, and multi-currency support. This is only v1.0, so expect even more great features in the future. If you currently own iBank 3.5 for Mac, the iPhone version may just be a must buy.
iBank is now available in the App Store for $4.99.

Too Many Bills!
I don’t think I could type in all of my transactions.
What kind of security do they use?
I use DayBank and love it but might have to give this bad boy a try.
Documents To Go looks like a really useful app with MS Office and other file support all on my iTouch.
I think the Mint app looks better than iBank
How practical is editing Office documents on an iPhone?
I tried mint out, but it takes way to long to update the actual amount in the bank. half the time I would end up going to my bank website anyways to check my balance. I guess of you just want something to track spending though it would be ok. I guess I will have to see if ibank does a better job…
i tried mint and didn’t like. hope this one is better
I use Checkbook right now, but this looks a lot nicer. I’ll definetly give it a try.
I use spend and love it
75 transactions, is that like billpay?
The 75 transactions simply allows you to try out the software for free without forking over the $59.99. Of course when you purchase the software the transactions are unlimited.
Other apps allow 200 txns
I have been reviewing a lot of finance apps recently.
Moneywell seems good and they are developing a iPhone app to go along side their desktop app.
iBank is the most expensive finance app out of the main contenders I have reviewed.
Cha-Ching also exists in the same desktop/iphone domain but the desktop is in beta.
Not sure I can be bothered to type stuff in as most of these apps handle imports from your bank statement.
Documents to go looks incredibly useful, providing a somewhat obvious feature that Apple has failed to.
My problem is that all of my financial data is in Quicken running on bootcamp, because I really like a lot of the advanced features of Quicken for PC. I don’t want to do double entry though… is there an app for that?
Looks interesting…unless I missed it, the ability to sync with your bank to get up to date balances would be nice.
Wow this app looks good but what’s up with the insane pricetag on the Mac version?
I use Cha Ching right now. It’s a little rough around the edges but they finally released their first update and the Mac client is free while in beta.
Gonna give iBank on the Mac a trial. Doubt I’ll find it worth $60 but you never know.
thanks for the info. very useful.
I need an app for viewing Word documents so I hope I win
I’ve been using Accountr for $$$ managing, pretty decent app. Documents 2 Go sounds like a pretty usefull app.
I’ve been looking at iBank for a while. It has had a special webapp that syncs with the desktop software for a while (as a solution to pre-native app development).
I was unaware that Cha-Ching has an iPhone app, however the desktop app receives far too few updates to make it an acceptable solution. I love the paradigm it uses, but it became a chore to use when the updates began to get sparse.
ZOMG! I needz Documents To Go …please, please please.
That is all
I wish I can win Documents to go!
I hope I win Documents To Go as well
It’s a really good app to manage documents on-the-go
My wife could really use DocumentsToGo for her school documents. I’ve considered purchasing it, but just didn’t want to spend that much. I’m more of a $2.99 and under purchaser.
Been using Documents to Go for years on Palm. Hope I can win for the free copy
I REALLY want documents to go! I love AppAwards Week, it is a lot of fun.
Documents to go seems really useful. I would love to get it…
Ya i have an ipod touch so i don’t think iBank would even help me. No 3g
Glad iBank mobile is a stand alone product since I don’t have its desktop counterpart. But there are so many financial apps. It makes it really hard without spending a lot of $$$ on trial and error to figure out which one works best for you. This one does look nice though. Hmmm.
I really like the Quicken Online App, it works best for me, and has all my banks. Mint doesn’t have my primary bank.
These kind of apps don’t work with non-US banks, I once tried to give Mint a try…!
Congrats to our winner, Larry W! Your download code has been sent via email.
