notifyme NotifyMe With Push Now Available In App Store

Developer PoweryBase released their first push-capable to-do list app, NotifyMe Free, only two days ago.  NotifyMe Free features everything you would expect from a to-do list app, but it has limitations due to the fact that it is available for free.  Now that you have had a taste of what PoweryBase has to offer, they have released the full version of NotifyMe, which is push-capable just like the free version and doesn’t have any intended limitations.

notifyme screen 200x300 NotifyMe With Push Now Available In App StoreNotifyMe features a simple and straightforward interface that allows you to quickly set up and display reminders.  On startup you are able to have the app display a new reminder, the main screen, or upcoming reminders.  When you create a new reminder, you can choose from seven categories, including personal, work, school, birthdays, to-dos, TV shows, and shopping.  NotifyMe also features a few different viewing options, various repeating modes, and global time zone changes for those frequent travelers out there.

As with all push-capable apps, there are a few catches.  You are required to have iPhone OS 3.0 installed on your device to use the app, and the push feature isn’t as useful on the iPod touch since there is a 15 minute delay for notifications when the device is asleep.  We have a short article (thanks to PoweryBase) that explains why Apple added the delay if you care to take a look.

NotifyMe with push is available in the App Store for $3.99.  If you are currently using the free version of NotifyMe and you decide to purchase the full version, you won’t have to set up a new user account.  You can simply use your existing account and enjoy it without any limitations.

*NotifyMe doesn’t support app icon badges yet, but the developer states they will be available in the next update.

  1. NotifyMe is great, but still can’t replace certain note apps on my phone.

the “Initalizing” Pop up should do evernote style updating bar, so I can type a note while it’s doing it’s thing…

    custom categories would be great

the app forces you to pick a date, certain lists like shopping lists don’t necessarily have a due date, or I don’t want to be notified via push on certain items.. turning the date off would be great

other than those minor issues, the app is great it’s quick, easy to use, and super nice looking

  2. Great app but would like to mention a few wish lists:
    1. ability to send some one else a reminder.
    2. option to snooze the task or delete/mark as complete when it appears on the phone.
    3. Takes way to long to updated servers after saving the task.
    4. incorporate other task features such as Projects, subtasks, etc.

I would not use this app too much since it is only intended for me. I use textRemind because I want all my reminders in one app, and that lets me send reminders to other people.

  3. One simple question.
Why wuold you need a push notification on an app like this one if you don´t have a web site to fill in and administrate the tasks?
I mean if the application runs only on your phone, a reminder (as the Calendar have) it wouldn’t be enough?
    I just don’t get it.

  4. This app is perfect for reminding me of small things like taking out the trash. I don’t need a calendar entry for that! Also to remind my wife to pick up my prescriptions at 7:00pm before the pharmacy closes. Its a perfect solution for those kind of things.

  5. Anybody know of any apps like NotifyMe, that you can set an alert every hour until you have finished the task? Most let you re-alert once a day, but what about continued alerts throughout the day???
