If you thoroughly enjoyed Capcom’s port of Resident Evil: Degeneration, this next bit of news may excite and disappoint all at the same time.
According to TouchArcade, the Japanese iPhone site AppBank was able to grab a copy of Resident Evil 4 Mobile edition from the Japanese iTunes Store before it was pulled for unspecified reasons. Thankfully they managed to get a bunch of screenshots and a video which we have embedded below.
Resident Evil 4 Mobile edition, or Biohazard 4 Mobile edition as it is called in Japan, was originally created for a Japanese mobile phone company. The game’s appearance in the Japanese iTunes Store is somewhat surprising since there was never an announcement of the port taking place, but Capcom has always been a bit tight-lipped.
Hopefully the game reappears in the Japanese iTunes Store and eventually makes its way to other international stores, because even with the somewhat awkward looking controls, the game still looks like it would appeal to Resident Evil fans.

Resident Evil Degeneration was pretty good. This one looks even better, hopefully “Penetrator” comes out to the USA iTunes Store!
I hope this eventually gets ported over to the US iTunes store. Looks good.
I have never seen graphics like this on a mobile platform before (Unless PSP has graphics that match this) I hope I get this app to see how great it is.
An update appeared for Resident Evil: Degeneration all week but iTunes said that it was not available in the US store but I was finally able to download it today, maybe this had something to do with it. This game looks awesome I will buy it when it comes out. Is this the full version of Resident Evil 4 with touch controls or just a watered down version?

I played Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube, and it became my favorite game ever! The mobile version resembles the game a whole lot.
I initially enjoyed RE4 for the GC but it got quite tiresome towards the end when a person had to just waste oodles of time trying to figure out the next task / clues and stopped ‘playing’ the game. Ugh!
Hope this makes it to the US store!

Judging from the video… no. Plus, that would go against everything the series stands for.

iPhone is super powerful! I play games on it more than on my PSP and DSi.
The graphics looks pretty impressive. But the controls for shooter games are just too awkward for me. And since were talking about video games on the iPhone, why hasn’t Nintendo tapped into this market by submitting old school games? I’d love to play some Mario or Zelda!

Penetrator is by a really good developer… game looks very good graphic-wise, and also looks like a lot of fun.
