Being late to the party is better than never showing up.  Yahoo! Messenger was recently updated with the ability to send push notifications, and unlike many of the other free push-enabled instant messaging apps, this one stays logged in for way more than 30 minutes.

yahoomessenger_screenIf you are a die-hard Yahoo! Messenger fan, Yahoo! Messenger for the iPhone is your go-to app.  Yahoo! Messenger allows you to keep in touch with friends and family while on-the-go.  Not only can you instant message from Yahoo! Messenger, but the app also features the ability to share photos, emoticons, links, and it even sends SMS text messages.  The app recently received a hefty update that adds the ability to send push notifications.

Yahoo! Messenger v1.2.1 now allows you to stay signed in for up to two full weeks thanks to its ability to send push notifications.  Now you can stay in touch without having to keep the app open.

As always, Yahoo! Messenger is available in the App Store for free.  We have also added it to our Apps That Push You Applist.

  1. ive added a few contacts using other services thats compatible with the desktop client.. these contacts does NOT show up. So unless everyone IMPORTANT you need to talk to uses Yahoo.. this kinda fails..

  2. I agree. Nimbuzz is the only one that’s actually good that integrates every account type. Even then, log in is still only 30 minutes. :-(
