Today we released a very big update to OUR app, which was created after hearing requests from you, the readers of this site. We really want to know what you guys think and hope everyone takes a few minutes to check it out – and hopefully it will help all of you save a few bucks.

BargainBin, our real-time sales feed app that hopefully needs no introduction, has just been updated to version 3.0.  This update includes one of the most useful features available in iPhone OS 3.0, push notifications, and the ability to keep track of apps via Watch Lists and Subscriptions.

We have always strived to make BargainBin the most easy to use and yet feature-rich bargain watching app in the App Store, and we believe v3.0 takes BargainBin to a whole new level thanks to push notifications.

bargainbin_screenWhen you launch BargainBin, you will notice that it still has the same intuitive interface with the ability to check for bargains in specific categories or just for popular apps, but now BargainBin has two important new features.

We added a Watch List section and Subscriptions.  You can add apps you’re interested in to The Watch List and set the price you’d be willing to buy it at. When the app meets the price you set or drops below, BargainBin will notify you through push notification. No more missing out on great deals!

Don’t have a specific app you want to watch? That’s fine. At the bottom of the Watch List there is a section for  Additional Notifications where you can get Subscriptions.  You can select Popular apps, or if you are really appsessed, yes I made that up, just select All. By selecting All you will get any and all apps that drop in price.

We have worked extremely hard on BargainBin 3.0 so you never have to miss out on another app bargain again.  We appreciate all of the support everyone has given us up to this point.

Now we want to hear from you so we can make this app the best it can be.  Please feel free to leave comments in iTunes telling us what you think of v3.0 and what we can do to improve it.

BargainBin 3.0 is FREE and available now in the App Store !

Below is a short video explaining the new features in BargainBin 3.0.

  1. Nice!
It wolud be great if BargainBin could send me notifications when there is a new version of apps on my watch list.

  2. I’ve had BargainBin for a long time but I never used it, until I heard about this update. A watch list is what I wanted most and push notifications is just icing on the cake, a lot of icing, really good icing. Now I’m hungry. I look forward to more updates to this wonderful app. You guys have become one of my favorite websites.

  3. I’ve been waiting for an app tracker with push notifications! Thank you!!!!

  4. I was | | close from switching entirely to AppSniper. Thanks for giving me a reason to come back.

  5. I use the app a lot on my iPod Touch, and it is a great source of all kinds of AppStore discounts. It is also a good way to find new games (well, new to me) when they are on sale! Keep up with your work, and good luck!

  6. Hey guys, I didn’t even know you had an app. My bad! Great job, I like it a lot, I just hope that I don’t spend my entire paycheck on these “bargains” =)

  7. Great app idea!! Is there any chance of getting price localisation for your UK users?

    Good work!

  8. Thank you for app and everyday work.

  9. well .. localization for all countries.. (thats the good part with appsniper) i can provide help if needed from sweden.. even translations .. again .. if needed

  10. Thanks for the update and the notifications!!! Very cool functionality!

I just realized that it also gives me the ability to search for an app, so if I want to download something else while I am purusing the bargains, I can add a notification for it, set it at the current AppStore price and then follow the link to it in the AppStore. Sweet!

  11. Another request for app store localization!

Great to finally have an app watcher with push notifications. App sniper went belly up, Pandora Box was OK, but yours is better!

One thing I do miss from App Sniper is the graphs tracking app prices over time.

  12. Love the app! What happens to the wach list if the iPhone is restored to factory default or if the app is removed and reinstalled?

  13. i installed the application but i get a “oh now your watch list could not be loaded” error…any ideas ??

    • I get the same message! Cannot add app to watch list. The “+” is not visible. HELP!!

  14. Why are they having u remove ratings? I like ratings & haven’t upgraded because I don’t want to loose them.
