facebook3 Facebook v3.0 Finally Submitted For Review

We have been waiting patiently for the updated version of Facebook for the iPhone and iPod touch to arrive because this current version just isn’t cutting it anymore, and finally, FINALLY we have word that the update has been submitted to Apple for review.

Joe Hewitt, the man responsible for the Facebook app, had this to say via Twitter:

Just uploaded Facebook for iPhone 3.0 to the App Store for review. :)

Hewitt also stated that more details and screenshots will be posted on the app’s Facebook page this coming week, and that he is very excited to begin work on v3.1.

If you somehow missed what v3.0 is going to offer, here is a list from the Facebook page:

1. The “new” News Feed
2. Like
3. Events (including the ability to RSVP)
4. Notes
5. Pages
6. Create new photo albums
7. Upload photos to any album
8. Zoom into photos
9. Easier photo tagging
10. Profile Pictures albums
11. A new home screen for easy access to all your stuff, search, and notifications
12. Add your favorite profiles and pages to the home screen
13. Better Notifications (they link to the comments so you can reply)
14. Quickly call or text people right from the Friends page
15. Messages you are typing will be restored if you quit or are interrupted by a phone call

Not included in this list is iPhone 3GS video upload support, which Hewitt once again used Twitter to announce.

  1. finnally its submitted!!! looks great

  2. It’s said that this update won’t take ages to approve by Apple. Facebook has a VIP-thing which helps them jump forth in the line, so to speak. Let’s hope the update will arrive during next week :C

  3. Puuuuuuuuuuusssssssssshhhhhhhhh…….!!!!!!!

  4. I’m glad there isan update. The current is almost useless when trying to respond to people’s response cause when I click on their response it takes me to their page and not their response.

  7. Awesome, can’t wait!

  8. No push notifications in this version by the way …verified this with the developer. He said to expect push notifications in v3.1 of the app.
