inkvaders

Chillingo’s side-scrolling hand-drawn shooter, Inkvaders, has finally arrived in the App Store at a low introductory price, and we have a bunch of videos and screenshots to help you make your purchasing decision a little easier.

In Inkvaders, you play as Generic Marine, or G for short.  The Martian horde is invading, and you must battle your way from your base on the Moon all of the way back to Earth to rid the planet of the evil Martians.

inkvaders_screenInkvaders, if you couldn’t already tell, borrows heavily from Zombieville, but as they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  The game features the usual side-scrolling controls, with left, right, and shoot buttons, but it also throws in a jet pack.  The jet pack allows your character to fly over enemies and obtain hard to reach Martian rocks and meteors.  These items earn you cash, which allows you to purchase upgrades for the game’s three weapon types from vending machines.  The game also features all kinds of power-ups, 30 levels across three unique locations, multiple difficulty levels, and an endurance mode.

Inkvaders is available at the introductory price of $.99.  The regular price will eventually be $1.99.

Embedded below are three Inkvaders gameplay videos, one for each unique location in the game.
