SimplyTweet v2.1 Released, Includes Quick Account Switching, Bug Fixes, And More

August 10, 2009

simplytweet

SimplyTweet is a Twitter app for the iPhone and iPod touch that is included in not one, but two of our Applists, and for good reason.  It is a full-featured Twitter app that is able to send Push Notifications for mentions and direct messages, but a somewhat buggy v2.0 release turned quite a few potential push-craving customers away.  Now that v2.1 is out, everything should work just as expected. simplytweet_screenSimplyTweet by MotionObj is a fairly unknown Twitter app for the iPhone and iPod touch that sports tons of great features, including Push Notifications, multiple account support, saved searches, themes, landscape mode, trends support, built-in web browser, ability to follow/unfollow, and tons more.  The problem with v2.0 was that some users had reported that the app was constantly crashing, but apparently those issues have been fixed in v2.1 along with a couple of other pleasant additions. SimplyTweet v2.1 contains a bunch of bug fixes that are not listed in the app's description but are apparently there, at least that's what we have been told.  The update also adds the ability to quickly switch between accounts simply by tapping on the navigation bar of a timeline, block/unblock support, and support to view large profile pictures. If you are still looking for a Twitter app that sends push notifications, SimplyTweet is definitely worth checking out.  It is available in the App Store for $4.99.
