It's now been about two weeks since TomTom released their iPhone app, and yet we are still waiting for more details regarding its companion car kit, specifically an official price and release date.  Though we still don't have that information, Engadget has come across a different batch of car kit details via the FCC. TomTom has officially submitted its highly anticipated car kit to the FCC for approval and apparently it made it through without a hitch.  The FCC entry includes a handful of internal and external photos of the car kit along with its user guide. It also points out that the kit will feature Bluetooth and will require a Bluetooth connection to use the accessory with the iPhone. The photos clearly show a SiRFstarIII GPS chip, which according to previous reports, allows the iPod touch to operate with the kit as well.  But, if it requires a Bluetooth connection as stated in the manual, this would rule out first generation iPod touch and iPhone compatibility. If interested, you can check out all of the photos and test reports on the FCC's website.
