iSing is a new iPhone and iPod touch app that not only lets you show off your vocal talent online, but it also lets you judge other user performances.  Do you think you have what it takes to be the next iPhone idol?

iSing is karaoke meets talent show meets social networking,” said Morgan Slain, CEO of Island Labs. “We are very excited about providing a fun, lively venue on the mobile web for people to sing, share and compete for fame on the iSing talent show.”

ising_screen1When you first launch iSing, you will be presented with a list of songs by other iSing performers.  You can listen to any of the songs with a single tap, and then rate them using the “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” buttons.  You can search for specific friends to build your own network of iSing contestants, or you can narrow down random songs by searching for the latest, best and worst of the current month, best and worst of all-time, or by location.

iSing isn’t only about judging others — even though that is probably the most entertaining part of the app for us not-so-gifted singers — you can also compete.  You can record a 30-second song with a simple tap of a button.  After recording, you can review and re-record the song before submitting it to the developer, Island Labs, for review.  Once it is approved, you will be notified via email and you can then share it with friends.  You are able to submit more than one entry per month, but it will cost you an additional $.99.

iSing is available for both the iPhone and iPod touch.  If you don’t have a microphone attachment for your iPod touch you obviously won’t be able to record and submit a song, but you will still be able to listen and judge other songs.

iSing is available in the App Store for $.99.
