Gameloft’s Soul Calibur-inspired 3D arcade fighting game for the iPhone and iPod touch, Blades of Fury, is now available in the App Store.  They are obviously trying really hard to meet their self-imposed goal of 15-30 new titles for the iPhone and iPod touch before the end of 2009.

bladesoffury_screen1Fighting games can be difficult to control on the iPhone, so Gameloft has decided to include two control methods.  One being an on-screen joystick with good old fashion buttons, and the other includes an on-screen joystick with gesture-based attacks.  Blades of Fury has 10 characters to choose from, each with specific traits, and about 20 different attacks and combos per character.  It also includes four single-player gameplay modes, 10 arenas, and a two-player multiplayer mode that can be utilized over local Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

Just like Gameloft’s other recent AAA releases, Blades of Fury is priced at $6.99 and is available immediately in the App Store.
