Overview

So basically, you're a circus bear gone mad here. You've had it with performing meaningless tricks for an unappreciative audience and it's time to take your show on the road. So what do you do? You grab your trusty Moped and race the heck out of there while doing crazy aerial stunts. However, you're still riding around on high wire power lines for some strange reason. I'm as clueless as you are...

Features

bear-on-a-wire-controlsThe game includes 15 different levels and 15 different stunts that you can perform. These stunts range from all kinds of things like a front roll, grinder, no hands, full twist, double flips, and many, many more. You can also collect coins in each stage in order to accumulate more points for any given level. The controls for the game utilize the accelerometer for the balance of the Moped and touch controls on the left and right sides of the screen for the gas and the tricks.

Breakdown

The Good:

The game looks awesome. I really love the over-the-top cartoon graphics. They mix really well with the silly aspect of this game. There are also a ton of tricks to do and the game feels a little bit like Excitebike for the Nintendo 64 in terms of the tricks, if anyone even remembers that one. bear-on-a-wire-tricks

The Bad:

The accelerometer controls for this game are pretty terrible. As long as you are on the ground, or wire to be more specific, you're fine. However, the second you get airborne it's a completely different story when you are trying to land. It's basically a crap shoot as far as which tricks you can pull off before you land. So be prepared to crash and fail the levels...a lot. In short, this is one of those games that's looks better than it plays, which is disappointing to say the least.

The Verdict

Maybe I am just terrible at this game, I'm not sure. After playing it for over a few hours, I still never felt in control of the tricks and how to correctly land them. It was a very frustrating couple of hours. Should you spend a dollar on this one? I don't think so. Again, the game looks a lot better than it plays and there are so many other great games out there for a buck, I say pass on this crazy, Moped riding bear. [gallery link="file" columns="4"]
