Wolfram|Alpha is in my opinion the biggest thing in online search since Google, if you don’t know it yet I would strongly recommend you to give it a shot. It’s a computational knowledge engine which lets you basically solve equations, ask about historic events, movies, names, compare two stocks (AAPL versus MSFT is my favorite), convert currencies or measures and so on and so on.
Well, following an announcement last week on a new api, Wolfram just released an iPhone version of its fantastic search engine. It’s relatively highly priced (50$) but the power of this application might very well be worth it. It could actually be the “one app to rule them all” and basically replace more than a third of the applications I own. [App Store link]

I use the site all of the time but $50 is a no go! Outrageous! They might be doing this as a publicity stunt to gain popularity for the site. It would work.
50? Um. No.
$50.00… Thats stupid…. why not just use Safari on the iPhone to access the site, is that possible?
They actually have an iPhone optimized website which is pretty good but I’m waiting to fully test the app to see what it’s really worth
Considering you need internet to access it anyway, you’d be doing yourself a favor and saving $50 by using Safari.
