Nokia Sues Apple Over The iPhone, Well Apple Won't Pay

As we've told you last week, Nokia filled a complaint against Apple for using some of its patents without proper license, well, it seems like Apple is not willing to concede that easily. Nokia's complaint is that Apple is using many patented wireless communications technologies that are industry standard today but still belong to Nokia, furthermore they claim that "virtually " every cellphone maker license those from them and that Apple somehow didn't. It seemed clear at first that Apple will be probably getting that straightened out discreetly with Nokia but it looks like it didn't go that smoothly. In fact, soon after the announcement of the complaint we heard rumors that Apple could have to pay up to $1 billion in penalties and licensing fees which made us start to doubt that Apple would go that deep in its pockets. Well, now we've got confirmation of that, Apple is not gonna settle easily on this matter and announced in its SEC 10-K form yesterday that :
The Company intends to defend the case vigorously.
It indeed does not look good, are we gonna get to see a big fight between those two Titans ? [via iLounge]
