return7, the developers of the extremely popular Billminder, had set out to create a simple and entertaining iPhone-to-iPhone messenger, and it appears that they were able to accomplish just that with their recently released app titled blipr.
blipr features an easy to use interface that clearly displays your friends and their current status. By tapping on one of your friends, you are able to send them a quick text message along with one of the 100+ unique sounds contained within the app. You can attach the sounds to your text message to get a point across, such as including the Rim Shot sound with a hilarious joke, or you can just send a sound all by itself, like an air raid siren to scare your unsuspecting friend.
blipr is also push-enabled, so you will be able to receive messages, sounds, and friend requests at any time. If you don’t feel like getting blipped, simply toggle the on/off switch that is conveniently located in the upper-right hand corner of the screen. Recent activity and messages can be view via the History tab, and you can share your unique blipr ID with your friends via email, Facebook, or Twitter. blipr even supports EMOJI icons if you have them enabled on your device.
return7 is also currently holding a blipr challenge. If blipr is able to make it into the top 10 paid apps list before November 30th, all of return7’s apps will be available for free for an entire week, including Billminder.

I’ve used both WhatsApp and Ping! And I like them both fair enough, but if blipr is more stable than Ping! and more successful in sending messages to WhatsApp, it might be worth it.

One for me and one for my biz partner. We like what’s app better than ping cause u don’t need any special username and when other people install it,if they are in your contact list,they automagically appear in your whatsapp friends list. Love to try blipr! One of these apps should have been included by apple on out of the box iPhones. It’s our version of blackberry messenger. So many of my friends have iPhones that I could drastically reduce my number of texts if everyone started using this type of app
