Livestream Procaster Lets You Stream Over 3G To iDevices

Livestream announced today a new free service that allows you to easily stream your Webcam or your screen to the iPhone and iPod touch. It’s called Procaster and what is very neat about it it’s that it’s extremely easy to setup and it can be read with mobile safari on WiFi or 3G.

I played around with it and I must admit that I admire the quality I obtained on my iPhone. There was a little bit too much delay in my opinion but the image was great, especially since I tested it inside my house on 3G.

Furthermore the desktop application that lets you stream exists in both Windows and Mac versions, the Mac one is still in beta but I tried it out and it’s really well made.

Finally Livestream is releasing an api that will let developers integrate those streams in websites or apps, it requires no licensing and is a great way to go around App Store’s restrictive 3G rules.
