Sneak Peek: Mini Squadron - Imagine 2D Aera or F.A.S.T. with Tons More Action!

Mini Squadron is a brand new game from independent developer Tak Fung. The game is basically a 2D aerial combat game that is more arcade based than anything else. You control one plane, and have to go against varying waves of enemy planes. You're goal is to shoot down all enemies. When I first saw the trailer I instantly thought of Aera and F.A.S.T., but it looked even better. After playing around with it, I can say that it plays even better than it looks. The game is great because it's in 2D, so you don't get lost in 3D space, and always have down time trying to fly around looking for enemies. MiniSquadron_bonus Instead there is constant action that is just so much fun to play. Most waves have at least five enemy planes that you have to take down solo. Flip, twist, and do 360s in air to avoid enemy fire, and go on the offensive at the same time. Each plane takes a few shots to take down, and as you progress more difficult and exotic enemy aircrafts enter including UFOs. The game is set up so there is a campaign mode, and you need to complete 12 waves to complete an area, and move on to the next. Also online multiplayer is included which I haven't been able to test. As you beat waves you unlock new planes, and there are over 50 different planes to unlock, and play with. To control your plane it's semi-dual stick with a control stick on the left, and tap the right side to fire. You have unlimited ammo, and the control stick worked perfectly. As you're flying, and you want to turn around, just move back the way you came, and the plan rotates 180 easily, and you're flying the right direction. Minisquadron_ufo The game is fast paced, and still runs smoothly. The game has a cartoon style rather than the authentic look of F.A.S.T. and its so much better because of it. Also included as added irony is famous classical music which actually goes perfectly with the game, as odd as that sounds. This is a game every idevice owner should be looking forward to. The game should hit the App Store within a week, and will be priced at $2.99. We will have an in-depth review once it enters the App Store. Please see my sneak peek video of the game in action.
