Google Wave just hit the App Store with Waveboard, its very first iPhone client. We’ve told you about it a week ago already but it’s now official.
It doesn’t really revolutionize the approach as it’s very close to the version you would get on mobile safari but it does makes the experience a little smoother. It allows you to access your waves, answer or open included links in a separate browser view. Finally it lets you shake your iPhone to reload or logout.
The app is not amazing, I’m personally expecting a lot from Google Wave and an app that just puts it in a frame for $1 is a little short. I’m not going to be tough on Waveboard though since it’s only the first version of the very first iPhone Google Wave client and we can only hope for it to improve.

AppAdvice is by far my favorite site (and Twitter feed) for app news and info. I wouldn’t have even known about Waveboard without it. So now that I’ve bought Waveboard to support the concept and further development it would be great to have a Wave invite so I could actually use it!

I am a iPhone addict and there is not a lot of places that I would reccomend to people to get the lastest up to date info on iPhone apps and goodies. However I would recommend app advice. You all do a great job on letting us know the hottest apps to download and add to our collection. I also love how we can search apps the way you have them sorted by gps, games and etc. Not only can I say I am iPhone addict but I am also an appadvice addict! I have also tried the waveboard app, one thing i don’t like is it seems to be mainly for landscape mode, I think they should mess with styling to allow it to be smoother in portrait mode too.

If I got a google wave invite, what would I do with it? Well… My girlfriend has one, my best friend has one, and about 5 others I know have one! I come to ask myself why I didn’t get a google wave account when I was the one that told them all about it! Then I found that one of my girlfriends cousins had one where they had invites to give and somehow everyone forgot to mention to send one my way. My best friend got one from one of his co-workers.
Now, I’ve heard that having a google wave account with no one to talk to isn’t all that great, but I have plenty!
So please send one my way if at all possible. I would greatly appreciate it! Plus, I would love to try that app!

If you really want this to take off, Google Wave needs to start with people in their 20’s like me, who will be more open to new ideas and less likely to do the whole “but my old system could do X.” That said, if I am the proud recipient of an invite, I would certainly invite my twentysomething friends too so they could spread the word. I would love a Google waive invite. Ever since I saw Google’s demo of the Wave, I have been imagining how I could possibly use that to improve our work processes. I work for NASA on the International Space Station program. We have lots fo documentation, we communicate within our Program via e-mail, we work with our International Partners via non-realtime processes. All of these could benefit from the Wave. An invite would allow me to start exploring the possibilities.
