We announced it a couple days ago, but it actually happened a lot earlier than expected. Microsoft just released an iPhone Bing app.

It’s a great app on paper: voice recognition, maps, predictive live search and so on… However the app is completely buggy for me and just doesn’t seem to work, I tried reinstalling, rebooting, nothing.

I’m not really on top of everything Microsoft lately so correct me if I’m wrong : You type in your keywords then you validate right?

I thought it could be location related but after disabling it I’m still getting the blue box of death.

Well, it’s Microsoft, what did I expect?

  1. Actually, for me it works :P i’m keeping it alongside my google mobile app. I never use Bing.. but i’ll have to give it a try sooner or later.

  2. I have had no issues at all with it so far.. I, as well, was giving it a try alongside Google.. I found it top be a cool app.. Visuals are nice but overall a bit slower than Google..

  3. The last sentence and the title seem like needless Micro$$$oft bashing and looks fanboyish. The Bing app may very well be buggy, but the way it’s framed in the article makes me wonder about the authors agenda.

… Well, it’s appadvice, what did I expect. (Not really, but see that’s not very nice!)

  4. Really? You guys do some good app reviews and have good articles but why do you have to bash EVERYTHING Android Microsoft or anything not Apple related? I stopped following you for a while because I was tired of it. It is unnecessary and as much as I love Apple they have their downfalls too. Please don’t make these pointless articles just to bash.

    • I totally agree with the last two comments. Will also stop to follow this site for a while

  5. I am also having issue with this. No matter what search term I type, I get no results found message. I have tried reinstalling several times. My phone is JB. Is this the problem?

  6. No problem here either. Sounds like the author is a mac snob pr**k or if not that’s how he/she is coming across

  7. I had no problem finding appadvice in a bing search. This app seems to work just fine with me. Must be the user I guess

  8. Everything works for me…Except the voice recognition which sucks really really badly.

And I thought i was the only one putting it next to google…

  9. BING STINKS on the desktop why would you waste space on an iphone?

  10. App advce works for me. I’m trying from bing right Now.

    • I works for me w/ a list of appadvice. You prob was in a basement w/ metal walls

  11. Actually it didnt work for me either and it was a big downside…. im getting tired of Microsoft’s buggy releases too. I actually bought windows Vista and it was money thrown down the toilet.

  12. Typical of Microsoft to release something that hasn’t been fully tested as usual. You wouldn’t believe the numbers of folk moving away from Microsoft to Mac’s, iPhones and iPod Touch.

Learn from others experiences and don’t install anything from Microsoft, that is unless you like problems, could it be the next arrival from Microsoft be the Black Screen of Death, that they found in all versions since 2000 and especially in Vista and 7, as reported on the BBC News website !
