Apple just updated MobileMe iDisk’s iPhone companion app.

The app’s main change is a new icon that might look better but actually doesn’t illustrate the app’s purpose as well as the old one. mzl.wsjaxkfb.100x100 75 iDisk Gets An Update And A New Icon

The rest of the update is quite minor, here is the changelog :

  • Auto-complete email addresses when choosing recipients for a shared file
  • File sharing emails are automatically saved to your Mail account’s Sent folder
  • When viewing an image, tap and hold to save it to your photo roll or copy it to another app
  • Maximum setting for cache size is now 500MB (up from 200MB)
  • Faster downloads
  • Various bug fixes
  • Localizations for Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Italian, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish

  1. I think the App Store updates are still buggy. I downloaded the update for iDisk and restarted my phone and the old icon was still there, and the App Store showed an update for iDisk still. Downloaded it again and all is well.

    • Are you jailbroken and use multiple accounts? I have this problem from time to time and I’m wondering if this could be the cause.

    • Nah it’s actually a bug with updates on the app store.

      They used to do this:

      1) Developer gets email from apple approving the update
      2) Around 3 hours later the update appears in the App Store

However now it appears to happen like this

      1) Developer gets email from apple approving the update
      2) Shortly after the update appears in the App Store but the binary is still the old version
      3) Anywhere from 3-8 hours later the actual binary appears

  2. Yup, same here and it’s got nothing to do with jailbroken iPhones. I’ve been having that problem for a while now. Multiple downloads to update an app. Hope Apple fixes it soon as it’s quite annoying.
