The one thing that was really holding Melodis Corporation’s music identifying app back from gaining ground on Shazam Entertainment’s Shazam Encore was its price, but that’s no longer the case, or at least for now it isn’t since Midomi SoundHound is on sale for a limited time.

Midomi SoundHound is able to identify music playing from any speaker within seconds, and it is even able to identify music that you sing or hum. The app was recently updated to v3.0, which adds tons of new features that make Midomi SoundHound a killer music app.

Midomi SoundHound v3.0 includes iPod integration, which not only allows you to play music from within the app, but it is also able to pull up and display information about the band and song currently playing.  It also features the ability to display song lyrics, show you if you already own the song that has been identified, charts that display the hottest, just grabbed, and most underplayed songs, an expanded library, and it still has no ads.

Midomi SoundHound is normally available in the App Store for $6.99, but it is on sale for $4.99 for a limited time, which is the exact same price Shazam Encore is being offered at.
