Microsoft, a software company based in Redmond (remember?), seems to be going through some serious bipolar disorder lately.

After reportedly telling journalists gathered for a company press event in Germany not to use or mention Apple products last Tuesday, they are now pushing their products on the iPhone.

According to various sources Microsoft would be “actively working” on bringing a native Bing application to the iPhone and is planning to launch it around March 2010 along with some other web services. In the same optic they would be also developing an official messenger app.

All in all it’s not that surprising actually. Microsoft has already been present on the App Store for a while now with apps like Microsoft Tag or Seadragon Mobile and the App Store is most certainly a great platform to promote their products.

If you can’t beat them, join them, right?

  1. This is a very cool development. But what I’d really like is the ability to make bing the default search in mobile safari. People need to have the
choice. Where’s the FTC when you really need them?

  2. Business is changing and ha to become more connective. This is a good sign for microsoft shareholders

  3. Finally, I can’t believe it took this long… for Microsoft to get this done.

  4. Live messenger on the iphone..

Sounds like a $6 app, or a 30% ad space on your screen…

    I’ll get it anyway :P
