Robbie Williams Gets His Own Racing Game App To Promote His Last Album
BY Alexander Vaughn on app store marketing Music racing Robbie Williams

It seems like the music industry believes always more in iPhone apps for marketing purposes, it’s like a new trend. After Lady Gaga or Britney Spears it’s now Robbie Williams’ turn to try promoting his music on the App Store.
It’s done in a more original way than usual this time since the Robbie Williams Racing app is actually a racing game that features his music in the background. It’s also filled with little extras that you can discover or unlock throughout the game.
Here is a list of the “game’s” features :
- Enjoy in-game versions of “Bodies” and “Difficult For Weirdos”
- Unlock up to 9 special remixes of “Bodies” throughout the game!
- Unlock behind-the-scenes videos and photos of Robbie in a treasure hunt!
- Exclusive commentary by Robbie Williams guides you all the way to the finish line!
- Race on the beautifully-crafted Mojave Desert course or on a buggy track based on Robbie’s real track from his own backyard!
- Enjoy several racing options—choose vehicles, tracks, lengths, and more!
- Purchase Robbie’s new album using a direct link to the iTunes store
- Beat your friends’ best times and scores and rule the online leaderboard

I’m very skeptical to whether this is actually a good way to promote music, isn’t it completely lame?
