Thanks to a collaboration between Futuretap and Navigon, Where to? The point of interest finding app and Navigon the navigation app can now work together.

You’re probably already familiar with tapping a phone number or an address and have you iPhone call or guide you using its official apps, well the idea is to let you do the same but using Navigon instead.

So now you can pick your points of interests directly in the great Where to? which will then send the coordinates to Navigon so it can guide you to your destination. I just tried it and it works really well, I managed to find a restaurant and have Navigon ready to guide me in just a few clicks.

It’s great to see this kind of integration, I mean isn’t this the law of comparative advantage? We each do what we’re the best at so everybody is better off? It’s pretty much what Ortwin Gentz, FutureTap CEO believes:

Instead of implementing a broad range of functionality in every app, we believe the trend is towards linked high-quality apps each focusing on one particular use case.
