If you have nothing planned for this fine evening, why not head to the App Store and download Air Hockey, Alexic, and Trundle for free?  It never hurts to add to your game library.

airhockey_screen1Air Hockey ($.99 -> Free): Air Hockey arrived in the App Store way back in August 2008, and has been updated on a regular basis in order to keep the game feeling fresh.  It features touch-based gameplay as you would expect, but it also features multiple levels of difficulty, two game modes, peer-to-peer multiplayer via Bluetooth, and OpenFeint connectivity to show of your high scores and achievements.

Air Hockey is free today only (1/26/10) as part of FreeAppADay.com.

Alexic: A newly released word game by indie developer Prometoys.  The gameplay consists of creating words from falling letters by tapping each letter you want to include and then double tapping a letter when you want to submit the word.  You must create words as fast as possible to keep them from piling up and falling out of the screen through the danger zone at the top.  The game also features accelerometer controls to help keep the letters within the screen, a 400,000 word database, and OpenFeint.

Alexic is available for free during its first 48 hours of availability, but after that it will cost you $1.99.

trundle_screen1Trundle: A puzzle/platformer with unique sounds and graphics.  In the game you control glowing ball by utilizing both accelerometer and touch controls to move forward, backward, and to jump.  The idea is to get from one end of the level to another by solving physics-based puzzles.  That’s pretty much the gist of it, but the developers have really created a dark mood and tight controls that just makes you want to keep playing.

Trundle is absolutely free to try, but the developer intends to add even more levels via in-app purchase.
