Infinite Dreams has decided to make their vertical shooter, Sky Force, available for free today to celebrate iQuarium’s successful trip into the App Store’s top 100 paid apps list. Aww thanks Infinite Dreams, we appreciate you too!
Sky Force is a classic vertical shooter for the iPhone and iPod touch. You will be tasked with piloting your ship via touch- or accelerometer-based controls, with your guns always set to automatic fire. You will need to clear a certain percentage of the enemies in each level without taking too much damage to move on to the next. Pick up humans and other items to earn score bonuses.
The game also features classic sound effects, three levels of difficulty, eight levels, tons of different enemies, power-ups, and OpenFeint connectivity.
Sky Force is normally available in the App Store for $1.99, but it is available today for free.

Great game guys, keep up the good work.
item not available it is being modified.
Yeah I wasn’t able to get it either and now it’s back to $1.99. It seems since the company is located in Poland, that today ended at 6pm for East coast people in the States and even earlier for West coast people. It would have been helpful to know what timezone “today” was in.
App not listed as free at 8:30PM PST not midnight yet not even on East Coast time. What gives?
It’s called a “Polish Cock Tease”. How LAME!
I tried to download the app at 5:00pm PST on the 17th. It showed as free in the appstore but kept popping up it was “being modified”. Then I found out how when the price was $1.99. That’s not even close to midnight… I think they just wanted free advertising from sites like this one?
