Despite of the critics, Apple’s approval process has some serious benefits, a big one being safety.

First Tech Credit union is reporting that a couple phishing apps have made it to the Android Market this December. Under the disguise of mobile banking apps, they would collect the users financial information and transmit them to their malicious developer, “Droid09″.

The apps have already been pulled but this is definitely bad timing for Google.

And no, we don’t think Apple is behind this…

  1. I really looks like in a world that doesn’t Droid shouldn’t. First Google has no support for the phone they sell, now they have no support system for the apps they are trying to run on it. There is no way I will ever turn to the darkside. The iphone will always prevail there is no equal. The iphone is far superior to anything on or near the market by far. Google has absolutely no chance and would be doing everyone a favor by letting the mobile market go! Stop trying to cut off a piece of Apple’s pie!

    • Awesome point “BurningAngel” and now maybe some will appreciate why we tend to accept the route of the app store apps to the iPhone the way we do… one ‘bad apple’ can spoil a whole lot of ________; feel free to fill in the blank.
Thanks Google, but sorry, some things just need to be done securely. hmmmm.
