Haha, it seems like after begging for one the entire week, Stephen Colbert just saw his dreams come true.
Tonight at the Grammys, instead of pulling out the “Song of the Year” envelope, he managed to surprise everybody with a shiny Apple iPad.
Check out the footage:
Damn, what a lucky *******.
Anyway, props to Apple’s product placement team, this is a very nice one.

I would check out the clip but I’m on my iPhone. No flash.
Sorry, to hear that.
You kidding right? If the video on YouTube, you can view it on YouTube.app. No flash required.
When they first put this up they didn’t have the YouTube video.
So you are trying to view a YouTube video an iPhone using the browser instead of the easy to use YouTube application already installed on your iPhone?
Hmm… wonder if he had to do return it at the end. xD
“Jay-Z? Am I cooler than you?” Classic.
Ha! That’s Colbert fo ya. I was waiting for him to pull it out of his pants or something like that.
Checking this from my iPad, can’t see the video
Can’t see the video. I’ll have to favorite this tweet and watch it later on my mac.
This is why flash is wanted on the iPad. It’s just a common annoyance.
Yay for YouTube, just a second after I made my rant above.
You always pull through AppAdvice.
The ipad really needs flash. It really does. As soon as it gets flash, I’ll be getting one.
What iPhones do u people have? I watched it on the original iPhone just fine. YouTube shows videos in h.264 on the iPhone.
Unfortunately, most of the folks who won’t buy a iPad for some reason or other, have, for similar reasons, not bought an iPod or an iPhone … sigh …
I am on my old iPhone and I could watch this clip without any problem.
Wow. This clip looks great on my iPod Touch. Great that the iPod T has a dedicated free app to watch YouTube videos, no?
WOW an internet tablet for those who don’t really use the web? LOL
Remember the “1984″ ad that pitted Apple as freedom and creativity (the girl in red shorts) vs. IBM – the oppressive controlling Big Brother presence.
Apple is undeniably the new Big Brother, controlling everything from which apps you can download to whether or not you need Flash – a de facto Web Standard.
Apple Fanboys – you’re the mindless drones watching the presentation – in case you don’t recognize yourselves.
I love you, Joel. Kiss.
