tablets montage Chart: Tablet Showdown

As you probably know, Apple’s iPad isn’t the only device of its kind and as iPad rumors were turning more consistent last year, many hardware firms jumped on the tablet train with their take of their own.

So what did they come up with? Well, Gizmodo did a nice job compiling what we know so far, check it out:

As you can see, Apple’s iPad is particularly tough on its competition, but HP also seems to have something in the works…

I bet that with all those tablets, our world will get a lot more “sci-fi” like by the end of the summer…

Here is another chart one I found

  1. Is it me or HP’s tablet looks equal or better in almost every aspect to the iPad?

    • It’s you I am afraid. :P Where it counts, the iPad is MUCH better – oleophobic IPS screen, usability, battery life…

      • Can’t really argue on the screen, but that has been already criticized before. Clearly iPad vs HP tablet, iPad has a better battery life, because, you know, 10 hours vs. unknown is very comparable :P . Also, usability? When it doesn’t even allows java, activex, or even multitasking? I think you’re betting it all on the development of the iPad app store :P .

  2. It is looking like HP dominates… and we will not fall victim to the slavery of apple. I understand the iphone because of its size… but to keep the ipad so closed is just stupid. F you steve jobs

  3. The Adam seems to have the best overal specs. But the only thing apple has over every other company is it’s mulittouch technology. Theirs is simply the best and most accurate.

  4. How can you say the iPad gives tough competition, every single aspect here is either wore than most others and if not is only the average or norm.

  5. The Lenovo U1 is 1000$ but is a hybrid with a laptop, the pad serves as a laptop monitor with windows 7 when connected to the keyboard which runs on a faster processor(s). I think this is an important point left out of that table.

  6. Well let’s hope we can plug in external USB hard drive into HP Slate, then it does have an expandable memory :D

Oh and iPad has extremely limited usability. iPad does have very good multitouch (if it’s anything like iPhone), and I hope that HP won’t let us down.

  7. That a very neat comparaison board but out of all those tablets, it seems only ONE is really available now. Maybe not the best at all, but at least the Archos can be ordered right away. When the time comes and some of the other are available, you can be sure they’ll be a lot more choices annonced… or even available…
