Turn Your iPhone Into A WWII Fighter Plane With Pilot - Plus A Chance To Win A Copy
BY Tyler Tschida on Entertainment iphone ipod touch pilot plane sound effects

App review requests flood our inboxes everyday, but Sam Butterfield and the developers at Do Tank Studios were able to grab our attention with their absurd, and yet in an odd way, ingenious little app titled Pilot, which turns any iPhone or iPod touch into your very own handheld WWII fighter plane. It’s one of those apps that makes you wonder why someone hadn’t thought of this before.
Pilot turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a motion responsive WWII fighter plane. When launched, the app blares life-like plane sound effects, allowing you to take hold of your device and run around your house as if you are actually piloting it. Tilting your device from side to side or holding it with the front facing downwards will cause your device to make more unique sounds, but if you tilt it down too long, you will hear a warning beep and eventually you will crash. Pilot also features buttons that allow you to make machine gun and bomb sounds, adding a bit of a multiplayer element if you have an iPhone-toting friend who won’t want to beat you silly for acting ridiculous.
You are also able to download your very own set of wings for free from the developer’s site, allowing you to take your fake flying to a whole new level. All four sets match the four different types of airforces included in the app. Just print one off, grab some tape, and let the man-child inside of you run wild.
If you still aren’t sold on the idea, maybe a free promo code or two will help convince you that you need to ease up a bit on the whole “acting like an adult” thing you have going on and just have a little fun.
